New Features:

No UMD Drive
The Sony PSP Go is the first PSP device that does not use a UMD drive. Instead, the Go connects wirelessly to the Sony Network and allows you to purchase/download new games directly to the device. The 16 gigabyte flash memory ensures you have plenty of storage space for the games you choose to download. The memory is also expandable thanks to the Memory Stick Micro slot.

New Design
The display is a bit smaller on the PSP Go than previous PSP models. Although it only has a 3.8" wide screen (as opposed to the 4.3" screen on older PSPs), it is much lighter. In fact, the PSP Go is about 43% lighter than its predecessor, the PSP 3000, weighing in at just about 3.8oz.

Wireless Goodness
Along with Wi-Fi capability, this new PSP model features Bluetooth technology. You can even tether the Go to a Bluetooth-enabled cellphone. This means that if you are in an area where Wi-Fi is spotty or not accessible, assuming you have a Bluetooth-enabled phone with a data plan, you could tether them together in order to browse the web or play games online from your PSP Go.

No External Battery
Much to our dismay, the PSP Go does not feature an external/removable battery. The internal battery is not meant to be removed. One of the primary reasons for this is because in previous PSP models, the external battery was used as a vulnerability by those who wished to manipulate the device's firmware in order to play pirated games. The most popular way of doing this was with Pandora batteries. The people at Sony hope that the absence of an external battery on the PSP Go will help to detour piraters.

How Much Does the PSP Go Cost?
Currently, new PSP Go consoles are selling for around $200.
